Guaranteeing the States Protection against Invasion Act 2026

Today, Congressman Wesley Hunt introduced the Guaranteeing the States’ Protection Against Invasion Act. What happened at our southern border under Joe Biden was not mismanagement. It was a complete failure of leadership. Under Biden, millions of illegal crossings occurred, with millions more getting away entirely. Texas carried nearly half of that burden, along with deadly surges of fentanyl that devastated communities and strengthened criminal cartels. That is not immigration policy. It is a national security crisis. President Trump showed on Day One that the border can be secured when leaders have the will to act. But executive action is not enough. If it is not written into law, the next radical administration will undo it overnight. This bill finally draws a line. It treats mass illegal entry for what it is: an invasion. The GSPA protects the states, enforces the law, mandates background checks, and ends rewards for breaking into our country. Let’s codify border security, once and for all.
